Auslan (Australian Sign Language) is the language used by the Australian Deaf community. Ninety percent of deaf children are born to hearing parents. Our perception and experiences of deafness are very different to our deaf children. We can learn from the experiences, thoughts and stories of deaf adults and other parents.
