Parent support groups

Parent support groups provide an opportunity to meet other parents with a child with hearing loss. Support groups can be an important source of information and emotional support for parents.

The groups listed below are organised by parents for parents and provide an opportunity for parents to meet and interact with other parents who have chosen a variety of different options for their child who is deaf or hard of hearing.

Aussie Deaf Kids has an online support group for families seeking support and information from other parents. This group is open to members only and provides a welcoming and supportive space for parents to share their concerns, discuss issues, and gain insight from other families on raising their child with hearing loss.

Shared journeys, shared wisdom
If your baby or child has been diagnosed with hearing loss, we understand how you’re feeling right now. Many of us have gone through similar feelings of isolation and sadness when receiving our child’s diagnosis. It can come as a shock.
