Ann Porter AM – Chief Executive Officer
Ann Porter is the founder of Aussie Deaf Kids and has taken on the position of Chief Executive Officer to achieve her vision of creating a leading website for families which is easy to use and provides families with the information they need to make both big and day-to-day decisions about raising their child who is deaf or hard of hearing.
Ann is married with three daughters. Her youngest daughter was diagnosed with a profound unilateral hearing loss when she was 4 and lost the hearing in her other ear when she was 7.
Since the diagnosis of her daughter’s hearing loss in 1996, Ann has been actively involved in supporting parents and advocating on behalf of their families. Ann has spoken at numerous conferences regarding online support and information for parents raising a child with hearing loss. She is a founding member and current Co-Chair of GPODHH – The Global Coalition of Parents of Children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
Jane Colys – Information Coordinator
Jane has an accounting background but is passionate about children with hearing loss and the importance of early intervention, access to unbiased information and empowering parents. Jane has a daughter with a bilateral sensorineural hearing loss.
Bec White – Social Media Coordinator
Bec is passionate about community involvement and is great at multitasking with three kids. Her middle son has single-sided deafness.
