Google Maps adds hearing loops

Google Maps now includes hearing loops and assistive listening devices in the accessibility information on its website. This will be helpful for users of hearing aids, cochlear implants, and other listening devices. See the images below as a guide for finding the information on your smart device or computer.

This is an ongoing project, so if you know of a venue that has assistive listening devices, you can lend a hand by identifying them – click on the link to find out how.

Smartphone or Tablet App:

  • Open the Google Maps app

  • Scroll down and across
  • Click on ABOUT
  • Scroll down to the Accessibility section

  • Search Google Maps on your computer
  • Type the venue name in the box
  • Click on the information section with the arrow >
  • This will take you to the Accessibility section
