Depending on where you live and your child’s hearing loss, your child may be eligible for Australian Government funding through the National Disability Insurance Scheme.
National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)
The first stage of the NDIS began at a number of trial sites in July 2013. The NDIS is available in South Australia.
The National Disability insurance Agency (NDIA) has developed a pathway for children who are deaf or hard of hearing to access the National Disability insurance Scheme with minimal delay following the diagnosis of hearing loss in a child aged 0-6 years. (For more information: NDIS Pathway Hearing Stream 0-6 years)
