Deafness and the law

There are a number of laws designed to make disability discrimination unlawful and promote equal opportunity and access to people with disabilities.

Under the Disability Discrimination Act 1992, individuals can lodge complaints of discrimination and harassment with the Australian Human Rights Commission.
