Parents

Parent mentoring programs

When a baby or child is diagnosed with a hearing loss, there are many people who provide the parents with support - professionals, family and friends. But these people rarely have the experience of raising a child with a hearing loss and the parents can often feel quite alone. There are people who understand - other parents. There is something special about the support and insights that another parent who has "walked the walk" can offer.
Parent-to-parent mentoring
There are now Parent-to-Parent Mentoring programs available in three States.
More experienced parents are trained to support new parents who are starting out on their journey with their baby. There is no cost to the family.
